Name That Bike!

Today I smiled all the way down Jagtvej riding my brand new yellow bike. I am in love. It's got a back-pedal break, four gears, a front basket, a back rack, a broken mickey mouse bell, and a pink lock. Note how I took it to the supermarket and filled it with groceries?

There's really no need for me to say anything more about riding a bike in Denmark. It's all been said before. Instead, I am calling on you to participate in the following challenge:

NAME MY BIKE!

obviously, it has to be a special name for a very special bike. here are some pointers: its brand name is MBK, it was coincidentally the cheapest used bike I looked at, it's a bit small for me because it's a women's bike (no bar to crack my nuts on), it's yellow with a pink lock, and it doesn't speak English.

The winner of this contest gets to, well... name my bike!

What about Big Bird?
If Big Bird were a bike, he would most definitely have a pink lock and a busted mickey mouse bell. And we all know that he's probably really a girl on the inside.
That's my vote.

Love!

well I immediately thought of the name "Chuck" when I saw your new-to-you bike. Then I thought of Rufus Jones. Why because I like the name Rufus Jones and no one will ever let me name one of my children after a great quaker. Sure the name is good enough for a dorm at Haverford but never for a future child of mine. Then I thought of Charlie Brown. Why? I think it's the yellowness of it continues to make me lean towards the Snoopy character. Don't know what Charlie Brown would translate to in German but maybe it sounds better. But how cool would be for you to say, "So Rufus and I just came back from the market and they had a great sale on Nutella." Really, everyone would be like, "Oh! Who's this jazzy Rufus person you keep talking about?" It may be a long shot for you to name your bike Rufus Jones or even Charlie Brown but perhaps my post can ignite the spark of inspiration for the name you truly want!

while i continue to enjoy this wonderful bike, i'm whispering the different names you guys are suggesting, to see which one it responds to.

kat knows me well: my crush on that bike is almost as big as on the bird itself. when i was young i really did used to have the hots for big bird. so big and yellow and feathery and kind. puts a big smile on my face just thinking about it.

and z, i have to say that someone just compared me to one of the peanuts characters, one of the girls. i can't fully remember why. so charlie brown would be a nice complement to my new identity. nonetheless, i encourage you to keep campaigning for rufus jones to be your baby's name. it's got quite an urban ring to it, don't you think?

any more name suggestions out there? (andeas, i know you are still brewing your ideas... tell us!)

andeas? is this my turn?

well, let me think: as I'm not one of the creative characters here and furthermore I'm not very good in writing posts (not to mention emails), my suggestions for the bike is concise: TomTurbo, the most famous Austrian bicycle.

here it comes:

TomTurbo

And: No, this isn't me on the pic!!
